Healing from Trauma: A Safe Space for Survivors
Survivors of Abuse, neglect, sexual assault/ DV
Healing from the profound impact of abuse, sexual assault, or domestic violence is a journey of courage and resilience. The effects of trauma can linger, manifesting as anxiety, depression, a sense of being on high alert, or difficulty forming healthy relationships. We understand the unique challenges you face and are here to provide a compassionate, safe, and confidential space for you to heal.
You are not broken. The pain you feel is a natural response to unnatural events. We are here to help you navigate this journey and reclaim your sense of self, safety, and inner peace.

EMDR: Desensitizing Painful Memories
EMDR is a well-established psychotherapy that helps people heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Through bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements or tapping), EMDR helps the brain's information processing system get "unstuck."
Reprocessing Traumatic Memories: It allows you to reprocess traumatic memories, so they no longer feel as painful or overwhelming.
-
Reduces Triggers: By desensitizing the memory, EMDR can significantly reduce the emotional charge and physical reactions you experience when you encounter a trigger.
-
Restores a Sense of Safety: EMDR can help you replace negative beliefs about yourself with positive, empowering ones.

Our Treatment Approach
Our approach to trauma recovery is centered on your needs. We utilize specialized, evidence-based therapies designed to address the deep neurological and emotional effects of trauma. We focus on helping you process difficult memories and regulate your nervous system, so you can move forward with a renewed sense of confidence and well-being.
We specialize in two of the most effective trauma-focused therapies: Brainspotting and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).
Brainspotting: Releasing the Body's Trauma
Brainspotting is a powerful, focused treatment method that works on the principle that "where you look affects how you feel." It helps to locate and release trauma stored in the deep, subcortical areas of the brain that are often inaccessible through traditional talk therapy.
-
Gentle and Effective: Brainspotting can help you process and release painful memories and emotions without having to verbally recount the details of the trauma.
-
Targets the Source: It directly addresses the physical and emotional distress that manifests from trauma, such as anxiety, hypervigilance, and chronic pain.
-
Neuroscience-Based: The therapy uses specific eye positions ("brainspots") to facilitate the brain's natural ability to heal and integrate unprocessed experiences.
