Jordan Zamarripa, Graduate Intern
Supervised by Jenai Tidwell, LPC- Supervisor
Specializes in stress, anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and major life changes.

Jordan Zamarripa is a graduate student in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling at Sam Houston State University. She is interning at Fowler and Tidwell Counseling in addition to Restoring Hope Counseling. She is dedicated to walking alongside individuals, helping them navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, stress, self-doubt, life transitions, and relationship concerns. Jordan believes that therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself, therefore, she strives to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly and feel empowered to explore your feelings freely.
She uses a collaborative approach, meeting clients where they are and supporting them as they build confidence, resilience, and a stronger sense of self. She primarily operates from the Cognitive Behavioral standpoint, placing emphasis on how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected. She also incorporates mindfulness based strategies and techniques from person-centered therapy. During her internships, Jordan will also expand her skills in play therapy, couples counseling, and other evidence-based approaches.
"Starting therapy can feel intimidating or overwhelming. Jordan’s goal is to make the process feel as safe and approachable as possible. I believes that everyone has the power to grow and is eager to join clients on their journey towards healing, peace, and happiness. " - Jordan Zamarripa
