Specialized Support for the LGBTQIA+ Community

Our counseling services are tailored to support you through the most pivotal and challenging aspects of your life:

1. Navigating the Coming Out Process

Coming out is a deeply personal journey, often filled with excitement, fear, and uncertainty. We provide a supportive environment to process every step, whether you are:

  • Exploring your sexual orientation or gender identity in a non-judgmental space.

  • Developing strategies for disclosing your identity to family, friends, and coworkers.

  • Coping with the potential reactions of loved ones and building a strong support network.

  • Managing the stress and anxiety that often accompanies this major life transition.

2. Processing Homophobia, Transphobia, and Minority Stress

Living in a world that is not built for you can lead to real mental health challenges. Our therapy focuses on:

  • Addressing minority stress, anxiety, and depression resulting from discrimination and prejudice.

  • Working through internalized homophobia and transphobia—the self-critical voice that absorbs negative societal messages.

  • Building resilience and self-acceptance to counter external pressure.

  • Processing the emotional impact of microaggressions and experiences with anti-LGBTQIA+ bias.

3. Gender Transition Support and Medical Letters

We are committed to being allies and advocates in your gender-affirming care journey. We follow the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Standards of Care to provide necessary support and documentation.

  • Assessment and Letters for Gender Transition: We provide timely, non-pathologizing letters for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and gender-affirming surgeries (such as top surgery, bottom surgery, etc.). We see our role as advocates, not gatekeepers.

  • Transition Exploration and Planning: Counseling to explore your goals, understand the emotional and social aspects of transitioning, and prepare for the medical steps of your journey.

  • Support for non-binary, genderqueer, and all gender-expansive individuals.
